Review
Review from public pages
Written from monday dev's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 15, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read monday dev's pricing page, monday.com's trust center and help center articles on plans, guests, data residency, HIPAA, API limits and exporting on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up for this review. monday.com sells several products on one platform; we chose monday dev, its product for software teams, because our reference scenario is a product team. The pricing page prices a chosen team size: seats come in buckets of 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40, and from 50 seats it asks you to contact sales. At 25 seats, Basic is $9 a seat a month billed annually ($225 a month) or $12 billed monthly. The page notes that the price depends on the billing country; it showed US dollars.
The plan table gates features by plan: guests, timelines, GitHub, GitLab and Jira integrations and 250 automation actions a month start on Standard; private boards, time tracking and 25,000 actions on Pro; SAML SSO, SCIM, the audit log, HIPAA and IP restrictions on Enterprise. SOC 2 Type II is marked on every plan. monday dev has no free plan; sign-up starts a 14-day trial of Pro without a card.
Two details from the help center: an account's data region (US, EU or APAC) is set from the location of the first user and cannot be moved later, and only Enterprise accounts in the EU region keep customer data solely in the EU. The help center also says seat buckets rise in multiples of 5, while the pricing page goes from 30 to 40 seats.
Strengths
- Unlimited free viewers on every plan
Read-only viewers do not take a seat on Basic, Standard, Pro or Enterprise.
vs Linear: Linear bills every unsuspended user in any role.
- Dev workflows on the cheapest plan
Basic includes sprints, backlogs, bug tracking, a wiki and capacity planning.
- Account export with files
Admins can export all boards, private ones included, with uploaded files.
vs Linear: Linear’s workspace CSV export leaves out attachment files.
- A long certification list
The trust center lists SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II, SOC 3, ISO/IEC 27001, 27017, 27018, 27032 and 27701, CSA STAR and TX-RAMP.
Things to know
- No free plan
monday dev has a 14-day trial of Pro; the free plan is only on monday.com’s general work platform.
- Seats come in buckets
At 25 people the 25-seat bucket fits; a 26th person moves the account to the 30-seat bucket ($270 a month on Basic billed annually). Above 40 seats, pricing goes through sales.
- Guests, automations and private boards cost more
Guests and automations start on Standard ($300 a month for 25 seats billed annually); private boards on Pro ($500).
- Security controls on Enterprise
SAML SSO, SCIM, the audit log and HIPAA are Enterprise features, and the help center gives Enterprise a minimum term of 12 months.
Pricing reality
monday dev sells seats in buckets: 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 40, with a quote above that. Basic is $9 a seat a month billed annually or $12 monthly; Standard $12 or $14.50; Pro $20 or $25. For 25 people, Basic comes to $225 a month billed annually and $300 monthly; Standard to $300 and Pro to $500 billed annually. Viewers are free on every plan; on Standard every 4 guests use one seat, and on Pro guests are unlimited. Going over the seat count upgrades the account to the next bucket automatically. AI credits are included and more can be bought; extra API calls are sold in units of 25,000 a day.
Exit path
Admins can export the whole account as a zip file: every board, private ones included, with uploaded files (optional). Archived boards, workdocs, dashboards and the emails and activities timeline are not included, and the export can run once every 24 hours. The API is on every paid plan, with 1,000 calls a day on Basic.
