How Proofyo checks SaaS

Proofyo shows what each SaaS product really gives you for the money: the compliance you inherit, the data you can't get anywhere else, the engineering time you save. Every claim keeps its source and its date.

What Proofyo is

Marketing pages list features; what a buyer needs to know is what they are really paying for and whether it is worth it. So every product page starts with that, in one block: the main value, who gets the most out of it, two to four points with the evidence behind them and one plain trade-off. Then come the basic answers, observed rather than claimed: is there a free plan, do you need a card, can you start without a sales call, what does the cheapest paid plan cost. Then the review: what the product offers, its strengths, the things to know, what the price really covers, and when to pick a rival instead.

Every product listed today is checked from its vendor's public pages: pricing, security and docs, read on a stated date. Products in a category are scored on the same indicators with fixed formulas, and each page says plainly that nobody signed up. That tells you what a vendor commits to in writing; it cannot tell you about deliverability, speed or how the product feels to use.

Hands-on runs add that evidence: an AI agent does what a new customer would do, and records it. A product with a published run shows the run log, the screenshots, the API requests and responses, and the pricing page as it read on the run date. An editor checks the written review and the scores against that record before anything is published, unless auto-publishing is on; posts published that way say so under their title. The methodology covers the details.

Who it is for

  • People choosing software

Developers, founders and IT teams who want to know whether they can start today, what it costs and how the API behaves, before they talk to anyone.

  • AI agents

Agents that research or buy software on someone’s behalf. Every value block, fact, plan, score and API result is available as JSON, with the date it was checked.

What we hold to

  • Evidence first: a score always sits next to what it rests on, the public pages and the inputs behind each item or, for a hands-on review, the run log, captures and API calls.
  • Every fact has a date, and every price states its period.
  • We say what we did not do. A review from public pages never claims a sign-up or a test.
  • Failures stay in the record. A broken quickstart is part of a hands-on review.
  • Human help is always disclosed. If a person had to finish a sign-up, the review says so.
  • The site is funded by advertising, including from SaaS companies. Advertising never buys a fact, a score or a placement, and sponsored content is labeled. Ads are served by Google AdSense, which uses cookies; the privacy policy explains how and how to opt out.
  • Fair, plain wording: limitations are stated as facts with their conditions, never hidden and never mocked.
