Written from BugSnag's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 15, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read BugSnag's pricing and security pages, its security, on-premise and SSO documentation, SmartBear's security page and the SmartBear trust center on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up for this review. The product is named BugSnag across its site, with SmartBear as the company; one pricing FAQ answer refers to the product as "Insight Hub". The pricing page defaults to yearly billing and has a selector for events and one for spans. Select starts at 50,000 events and has no 100,000 step, so 150,000 events at $32 a month is the cheapest way to cover 100,000; Preferred at 100,000 is $33.
The quota works by day: if you exceed your daily share more than three times in 30 days, BugSnag upgrades you to the next plan unless you turn automatic upgrades off, in which case events are rate-limited. The 14-day trial gives Preferred features without a card.
On compliance the pages differ. BugSnag's security page lists ISO 27001, 27017 and 27018 and "SSAE 16 / ISAE 3402 Type II: SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3"; its security docs name the same kinds of standards for the Google Cloud facilities it runs in, and SmartBear's trust center lists BugSnag under ISO 27001 but scopes its SOC 2 Type 2 report to other SmartBear products. The SaaS runs in US data centers.

Pricing reality
BugSnag prices Select and Preferred by monthly events, with 1 million spans included. Billed yearly, Select is $20 at 50,000 events, $32 at 150,000, $44 at 200,000 and $200 at 1 million; monthly billing costs more ($23 at 50,000, $39 at 150,000). Preferred is $33 at 100,000 events and $65 at 150,000, billed yearly ($39 monthly at 100,000), and adds SAML SSO.
Each event counts once, but a minidump from a native crash counts as five. Larger span packs add to the price (7.5 million spans adds $2 a month on Select). Enterprise, by quote, adds on-premise deployment, SCIM, audit logs and custom retention.
Exit path
A data export API is on every paid plan (low volume on Select, high on Preferred), and Enterprise adds forwarding to Splunk and Amazon SQS. BugSnag On-premise is the self-hosted route.
