Bottom lineFrom its public pages, HubSpot Sales Hub is the easiest start here: a free CRM, then Starter at a $20 list price with pipelines, automations and calling. Sequences, forecasting and SSO need Professional and its onboarding fee, and a few HubSpot pages disagree on details. From its public pages, Zoho CRM puts the most on its entry plan: pipelines, workflows, cadences, forecasting, custom modules, audit logs and HIPAA settings for $14 a user, with SOC 2 and ISO 27001. Quotes start on Professional, and one older comparison page needs updating. From its public pages, Pipedrive is a straightforward pipeline CRM with SSO and the API on every plan and sales automation on Growth at $39 a seat. It has no custom objects or HIPAA path, and two pages disagree on which plan has the audit log. From its public pages, Attio is the strongest free start here and builds its records from email and calendar, with workflows and the API on every plan. Sequences and custom objects need Pro, SSO needs Enterprise, and its compliance file is ISO 27001 without SOC 2.

Review

Review from public pages

Written from HubSpot Sales Hub's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 16, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.

What the public pages show

We read HubSpot's Sales Hub pricing page with each plan's billing toggle, the pricing calculator, the Sales Hub and Starter product pages, the product and services catalog with its free-tools and limits pages, the security page and Trust Center, the terms of service, product-specific and sensitive-data terms, knowledge base articles on inbox connection, automations, workflows, quotes, permission sets, SSO, the activity log, data hosting, sensitive data, exports and backups, and the developer usage guidelines on Oct 16, 2026; we did not sign up, start a trial or call the API. The pricing page loads its prices by script; in a browser it showed US dollars.

The pricing page shows Starter at $7 a seat on annual terms and $10 month to month beside a struck-through $20; the Starter page explains this is a limited-time offer for new customers and that Starter is normally $20. Professional is $90 a seat with annual prepay or $100 paid monthly, both with an annual commitment, plus a required $1,500 onboarding fee.

A few points need a question to HubSpot. The Sales Hub page offers a 14-day trial, but does not say which edition or whether a card is needed, and the Starter page suggests the free tools instead of a trial. The SSO article puts SSO on Professional, while the data-center migration article says Enterprise only. Quotes now need a Revenue Hub seat for new customers. The security page credits ISO 27001 to HubSpot's hosting providers, while one marketing page mentions ISO 27001 compliance.

Strengths

  • A free CRM with inbox logging

Up to 2 users get contacts, companies, deals and a connected Gmail or Outlook inbox with email logging, with no card.

vs Pipedrive: Salesforce Free Suite also allows 2 users; Pipedrive has no free plan, only a 14-day trial.

  • Low entry price for pipelines and automation

Starter lists at $20 a seat and includes 15 pipelines, record automations, 500 calling minutes and 500 AI credits a month.

vs Pipedrive: Pipedrive starts automations on Growth at $39 a seat on annual terms.

  • API and EU hosting on every plan

The REST API is on every plan, Free included, and accounts get a data center, including Germany, from their sign-up location.

Compared: Salesforce charges $25 per user for the API on Pro Suite.

  • AI credits priced in public

Extra HubSpot Credits are $10 per pack of 1,000 or $0.01 each pay-as-you-go, with monthly allowances of 500, 3,000 and 5,000 by edition.

Things to know

  • Sequences, forecasting and SSO start on Professional

Sequences, forecasting, the full workflow editor and SAML SSO are on Professional at $90 a seat on annual terms, plus a required one-time $1,500 onboarding fee.

Workaround: Starter covers pipelines and record automations; the calculator shows the Professional start cost before buying.

  • Custom objects and HIPAA on Enterprise

Custom objects, custom permission sets and HIPAA sensitive data with a BAA are on Enterprise, which is $150 a seat, sold through sales, with a $3,500 onboarding fee.

  • Quotes need a Revenue Hub seat

For accounts created after Sept. 3, 2025, legacy quotes are not available and quotes need a Revenue Hub Professional or Enterprise seat ($95 or $140 a seat at list).

Workaround: The pricing page offers Revenue Hub at a reduced price to new Sales Hub customers.

  • Introductory prices renew at list

The $7 Starter price is a limited-time offer for new customers. The terms let HubSpot raise fees at renewal up to the then-current list price with 30 days’ notice; fees are non-refundable.

Workaround: Budget on the $20 list price, which is what our scenario uses.

Pricing reality

HubSpot bills per seat per month. For our scenario, 5 users on Starter cost 5 × $20 = $100 a month at list price (computed), before tax; new customers pay 5 × $7 = $35 a month for now with an annual commitment ($420 a year, as the calculator shows). That covers 15 pipelines, inbox logging, record automations, calling minutes and 500 credits. Sequences and forecasting need Professional: 5 × $90 = $450 a month plus $1,500 onboarding, $6,900 in the first year (calculator), or $575 a month spread over that year (computed). Extra costs: credits at $10 per 1,000, extra calling minutes at $50 per 1,000 on Professional and up, and a Revenue Hub seat for quotes.

Exit path

Any plan can export each object to a file from its All records view (300 exports per rolling 24 hours), and Starter and Professional can back up CRM data once a week (Enterprise daily); backups leave out associations and activity data. The API is on every plan. When a paid subscription ends, the free tools stay available.

Compared with

Choose it if

  • You want to start free with 2 users and add paid seats later.
  • You use or plan to use HubSpot for marketing or service.
  • You want the API and EU hosting from the first plan.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need sequences or forecasting without a $1,500 onboarding fee.
  • You need custom objects or a HIPAA BAA without a sales contract.
  • You need quotes without buying a second seat type.

Bottom line

From its public pages, HubSpot Sales Hub is the easiest start here: a free CRM, then Starter at a $20 list price with pipelines, automations and calling. Sequences, forecasting and SSO need Professional and its onboarding fee, and a few HubSpot pages disagree on details.
