An automation platform with 9,000+ app integrations, billed by tasks (successful actions), with a free plan for two-step Zaps and multi-step workflows from $19.99 a month.
Connect more than 9,000 apps in multi-step workflows without code, and pay only for actions that succeed.
Zapier’s value is reach: its directory lists more than 9,000 apps, so most SaaS tools a team already uses can be connected without writing an integration. A Zap is a trigger plus actions, and only successful actions use tasks; triggers, polling and built-in tools such as Filter, Formatter and Paths use none. Professional adds multi-step Zaps, webhooks, Paths, code steps, version history and replay of failed runs, all bought online.
The largest app directory in this categoryThe pricing FAQ says Zapier connects to more than 9,000 apps; premium apps are included on every paid plan, and private integrations can be built on its developer platform.Evidence: Pricing page FAQ (2026-10-16)
Tasks only for actions that succeedTriggers, polling and built-in tools (Filter, Formatter, Paths, Delay, Looping, Sub-Zap, Digest, Storage, Tables, Forms) use no tasks, and failed actions are not counted.Evidence: Pricing page task FAQ (2026-10-16)
Usage can continue past the tierWith pay-per-task on, Zaps keep running past the tier at 1.25× the base task rate on annual plans (2.5× monthly), up to 3× the subscription; with it off, Zaps pause until the next cycle.Evidence: Pricing page, task usage mechanics (2026-10-16)
Best for
Teams that want to connect many different SaaS apps quickly, without code, at a moderate number of actions a month.
Good to know
Price follows actions: 8,000 tasks a month cost $129 a month on Professional (annual), and the audit log and Zap export start on Team.

Bottom line
From its public pages, Zapier offers the broadest app directory here and a complete builder on Professional, priced per successful action. Costs grow with action volume, data stays in the US, and the audit log and Zap export start on Team.
From its public pages, Power Automate brings Microsoft’s compliance file, EU regions and high limits to one $15 per-user licence, plus desktop automation. It is licensed per user and paid yearly, and webhooks and premium connectors need that paid licence.
From its public pages, Make is the lowest-cost way to run our scenario, with branching, error handling, code and an EU region from the $9 Core plan. Every module run counts as a credit, and SSO and audit logs are Enterprise features.
From its public pages, n8n Cloud has the most predictable per-run price here, with code, AI and webhooks on the $20 Starter plan and a self-hosted edition as an exit. It has no free cloud plan, hosts in Frankfurt only, and keeps SSO and audit logs for Enterprise.

Free plan and trial
4.0 / 10, Fair
free plan covers about 25 reference runs a month (100 tasks ÷ 4 actions a run), single-action workflows only, webhook trigger not included or not stated, 14-day trial, no card needed
Price for 2,000 runs
3.5 / 10, Fair
$129/mo on Professional (10K tasks), annual terms: 2,000 runs × 4 actions = 8,000 tasks (the trigger uses none), so the 10K-task tier; the 5K tier ($89) plus 3,000 pay-per-task tasks at 1.25× its base rate would be about $156; assumes each action is a standard app action that uses one task (AI steps and some apps can use more)
Workflow building blocks
10.0 / 10, Excellent

Review
Review from public pages
Written from Zapier's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 16, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read Zapier's US pricing page with its plan comparison table, the security and compliance page, the data privacy overview and the help center article on importing and exporting Zaps on Oct 16, 2026; we did not sign up, start the trial or build a Zap for this review. The pricing page is detailed: every task tier from 750 to 2 million is priced on annual and monthly terms, and the pay-per-task rule is spelled out with its multipliers and its 3× ceiling.
A few statements need a question to Zapier. The plan table checks SAML SSO on Team, while the security page FAQ and the pricing FAQ describe single sign-on as an Enterprise feature. The plan table caps Team at 25 users, while the pricing FAQ says Team allows unlimited users. The help center places Zap import and export as JSON on Team and Enterprise. Zapier hosts data on AWS in the United States, says it does not offer EU-only storage, and its data privacy overview says HIPAA-regulated data is not supported and it cannot sign BAAs.
Strengths
More than 9,000 apps
The pricing FAQ counts 9,000+ apps, with premium apps included on every paid plan and a developer platform for private integrations.
vs Power Automate: Make lists 3,000+ apps and Power Automate more than 1,400 certified connectors.
Logic steps cost no tasks
Triggers, polling, Filter, Formatter, Paths, Delay, Looping and the other built-in tools do not use tasks, so adding logic to a Zap does not add to the bill.
vs Make: Make counts most modules as credits, including the trigger and tools that transform data.
Full building toolkit on Professional
Professional includes multi-step Zaps, Paths, webhooks, code steps with 30 seconds of runtime, AI by Zapier, version history, autoreplay and custom error settings.
Published overage rule
Pay-per-task keeps Zaps running past the tier at 1.25× the base task rate on annual plans and 2.5× on monthly plans, up to 3× the subscription.
Own SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3
The security page states SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 reports, audited annually by an independent firm; the SOC 3 report is public and the SOC 2 report is in the Trust Center under NDA.
Things to know
Cost rises with every action
Each successful action is a task, so the scenario’s 8,000 actions need the 10K tier: $129 a month on annual terms or $193.50 month to month.
Workaround: Filters and Paths use no tasks, so stopping runs early with a filter keeps task use down.
US hosting, no HIPAA
Data is stored on AWS in the United States, the privacy overview says EU-only storage is not supported, and Zapier cannot sign BAAs.
Team features start at $69
Professional is a single-user plan; the shared workspace, the audit log and Zap JSON export start on Team, and the pages disagree on whether SAML SSO is on Team or Enterprise.
Workaround: Team can be started from the product; confirm SSO with Zapier before buying.
Free plan is two-step only
Free covers 100 tasks a month in Zaps with one trigger and one action, without premium apps or webhooks.
Workaround: Every new account gets a 14-day Professional trial without a card.
Pricing reality
Zapier bills by task tier. A task is one successful action; triggers, polling and built-in tools do not count. For our scenario, 2,000 runs × 4 actions = 8,000 tasks, which needs Professional’s 10K tier: $129 a month on annual terms or $193.50 month to month. The 5K tier ($89) plus 3,000 pay-per-task tasks at 1.25× its base rate would come to about $156 (our arithmetic). Team starts at $69 for 2,000 tasks and costs $169 at 10K; Enterprise is priced by sales. An MCP tool call uses two tasks, and AI steps can use more than one. Non-profits get 15% off paid plans, excluding pay-per-task charges.
Exit path
On Team and Enterprise, Zaps can be exported as JSON from Settings and imported into another Zapier account; the account owner can export every Zap in the account. The JSON describes Zapier steps, so moving to another platform means rebuilding the workflows. Zap history is kept for the current and previous month (29 to 69 days); Company and Enterprise customers can set a custom retention of 7 to 30 days.
Your apps are mostly outside Microsoft 365 and you want to start without per-user licences.
Pick Power Automate when
Your team works in Microsoft 365 and needs a HIPAA BAA, ISO 27001 and EU environments, at $15 per user a month.
Choose it if
You connect many different SaaS apps and want them in one no-code builder.
Your workflows have few actions per run, or use filters to stop early.
You want to start free and buy any plan up to Team online.
Look elsewhere if
You need a HIPAA BAA or EU data hosting.
You run thousands of multi-step runs a month on a tight budget.
Bottom line
From its public pages, Zapier offers the broadest app directory here and a complete builder on Professional, priced per successful action. Costs grow with action volume, data stays in the US, and the audit log and Zap export start on Team.

Read from the vendor's public pages on Oct 16, 2026. No hands-on run is published yet. How we check
We have not published a sign-up run for Zapier yet. The access facts above were read from its sign-up and pricing pages on Oct 16, 2026.
We read the pricing, trust, help center and developer pages of three workflow automation platforms on the same day and scored them on the same six indicators. What 2,000 five-step runs cost in credits, executions and tasks, where code, SSO and EU hosting sit, and who should pick which.
