What you're paying for

  • Worth the price (main value)
  • Saves engineering time

Feature flags and full A/B testing on a free plan with unlimited seats, billed only for analytics events, not for flag checks.

Statsig bills the events that power analytics, not the flag checks themselves: gate checks with Metric Lifts off, and 0% or 100% rollouts, are not metered. The free Developer plan has unlimited seats, unlimited flag checks and 2 million metered events a month, with experimentation, CUPED, sequential testing and product analytics included. Teams that would otherwise run separate flag, experiment and analytics tools get them in one.

  • Flag checks are not billedThe pricing FAQ says exposures are billed only for experiments or for partial rollouts with Metric Lifts turned on; disabled flags and 0% or 100% rollouts create no metered events.Evidence: Pricing page FAQ (2026-10-15)
  • Experiments on the free planDeveloper includes multi-variate experiments, Bayesian and frequentist analysis, CUPED, sequential testing, flag impact analysis and product analytics.Evidence: Pricing page plan table (2026-10-15)
  • Free plan keeps flags runningAbove 2 million events on Developer, gate and config targeting keep working; only Metric Lift computations stop, after warnings.Evidence: Pricing page FAQ (2026-10-15)
Best for
Product teams that want flags, experiments and analytics in one tool and want to start without a contract.
Good to know
SSO, EU hosting and a HIPAA BAA are listed on Enterprise, and each Pro subscription covers one project.

Bottom lineFrom its public pages, Statsig gives the most for nothing here: unlimited seats and flag checks, with experiments and analytics on the free plan. SSO and EU hosting need Enterprise, and the product now sits within Amplitude. From its public pages, LaunchDarkly is the broadest platform here, with experiments on every plan and a long compliance list. Client-side users drive the bill, and SSO and audit logging are listed for Enterprise. From its public pages, ConfigCat is the most focused flag service here, with the most team controls on its free plan. Its score reflects no built-in experimentation and a shorter compliance list. From its public pages, Flagsmith offers unlimited flags on every plan, an open-source core and SOC 2 Type II. Team size sets the price, and a few plan details differ between its pricing page and docs.

Review

Review from public pages

Written from Statsig's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 15, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.

What the public pages show

We read Statsig's pricing page, its feature-flag docs, the trust center its trust link now leads to and its June 17, 2026 blog post on joining Amplitude, on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up for this review. The pricing page shows Developer (free, no credit card), Pro ($150 a month) and Enterprise (custom), with sign-up links for the first two.

The FAQ defines what is billed. Metered events are exposures for experiments and for flags with Metric Lifts enabled, logged events, ingested metrics and custom metrics. Exposures are deduplicated per user (a 60-minute window on client SDKs, 1 minute on server SDKs), and checks of disabled flags or 0% and 100% rollouts are not metered. So a team using Statsig only for flags can stay at zero metered events.

What surprised us is the ownership change. A site banner says Statsig is part of the Amplitude family; the blog says it joined Amplitude on May 5, 2026. trust.statsig.com now opens Amplitude's trust center, which lists a Statsig SOC 2 Type II report, an ISO 27001 certificate in Amplitude's name and US locations for the subprocessors that host Statsig-branded services. The pricing page still lists self-serve plans.

Strengths

  • Flag checks not billed

Unlimited flag and config checks on every plan; only analytics events count against the quota.

vs LaunchDarkly: LaunchDarkly bills $8.33 per 1,000 client-side MAU on Foundation.

  • Full experimentation on the free plan

CUPED, sequential testing, switchback and non-inferiority tests are marked on Developer, with holdouts and bandits from Pro.

vs LaunchDarkly: ConfigCat lists no experiment analysis; LaunchDarkly also lists A/B tests on its free plan.

  • Rollout monitoring included

Monitoring metrics, flag impact analysis and automated alerts are marked on every plan.

  • Change logs on every plan

The plan table marks change logs on Developer, Pro and Enterprise; Pro adds change reviews, approvals and reverts.

Things to know

  • Statsig is now part of Amplitude

Statsig joined Amplitude on May 5, 2026, per its blog, which describes connecting the two products over the following months.

Workaround: The pricing page still lists self-serve Developer and Pro plans with sign-up links.

  • SSO and EU hosting on Enterprise

SSO, role-based access, SCIM, EU hosting and the HIPAA BAA are marked Enterprise only.

  • ISO certificate is Amplitude’s

The trust center lists a Statsig SOC 2 Type II report, but the ISO 27001 certificate shown is in Amplitude’s name.

  • Pro covers one project

Each Pro subscription applies to one project; more projects are upgraded separately or on Enterprise.

Pricing reality

Statsig bills metered events: 2 million a month free on Developer, 5 million on Pro ($150 a month per project), then $0.05 per 1,000. Seats and flag checks are not charged. Exposures count only for experiments and for partial rollouts with Metric Lifts on, deduplicated per user.

For our scenario, flags alone with Metric Lifts off create no metered events, so Developer covers it at $0. If Metric Lifts were on, the free 2 million events would cover 40 deduplicated exposures per user a month for 50,000 users (our arithmetic). Above that, Developer stops Metric Lift computations but keeps serving flags; Pro would cost $150 plus overage.

Exit path

The pricing page describes the SDKs as open source. The data export API, for exposure, event and result data, is marked Enterprise only.

Compared with

  • Pick Statsig when
You want flag checks that are not billed per user, and experiments and analytics on a free plan.
    Pick LaunchDarkly when
Your security review asks for ISO 27001 or FedRAMP in the vendor’s own name.
  • Pick Statsig when
You want experiment analysis and rollout metrics built in.
    Pick ConfigCat when
You need SAML SSO, SCIM or EU data storage without an Enterprise contract.

Choose it if

  • You want flags, A/B tests and product analytics in one tool.
  • You want to start free with the whole team and no seat count.
  • Your flags mostly run at 0% or 100% or without Metric Lifts.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need SAML SSO or EU hosting without an Enterprise contract.
  • You only want flags and prefer a vendor focused on that.

Bottom line

From its public pages, Statsig gives the most for nothing here: unlimited seats and flag checks, with experiments and analytics on the free plan. SSO and EU hosting need Enterprise, and the product now sits within Amplitude.
