- Self-serve
- Tiered
- Public prices
What you're paying for
- Compliance included (main value)
- Saves engineering time
A dedicated Gitea instance with GitHub Actions-compatible CI, hosted in the region you choose, from $19 a month for 2 users.
Gitea Cloud gives each customer its own instance rather than a shared service, and lets you pick the cloud provider and region, including Frankfurt in the EU at the same price. The company behind Gitea runs upgrades, backups and the CI runners, which start on demand, and Gitea Actions uses GitHub Actions-compatible workflow syntax. The service is covered by a SOC 2 Type II report, available under NDA.
- Single tenant, region of your choiceEach instance runs in a private, isolated environment; the Frankfurt region keeps data in the EU at the same price as other regions.Evidence: Gitea Cloud product page and cloud.gitea.com (2026-10-15)
- Managed runners includedGitea Actions is enabled automatically and runners start on demand; each instance size includes CI minutes, 10,000 a month on the 10-user instance.Evidence: Product page and price calculator (2026-10-15)
- SOC 2 Type IIGitea Cloud and Gitea Enterprise completed SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 attestation over a 12-month period; the SOC 2 report is available under NDA.Evidence: Compliance page (2026-10-15)
- Best for
- Teams that want a dedicated Git host in a chosen region, with GitHub Actions-style CI, without running servers.
- Good to know
- The Cloud plan lists no SAML SSO or audit log, which the pricing page lists for self-managed Enterprise, and there is no free plan for private work.

| Bottom line | From its public pages, Gitea Cloud offers a dedicated instance in your chosen region with generous CI minutes, at $79.17 a month for 10 developers. It scores lower on this rubric because the hosted plan lists no SSO or audit log, has no free plan and its pricing pages disagree on discounts. | From its public pages, GitHub lists the lowest price here for 10 developers and covers the scenario on its $4 Team plan. SAML SSO starts on Enterprise, and scanning is an add-on. | From its public pages, Azure DevOps puts an audit log, EU data location and Entra ID sign-in on every plan and covers our team for $70. CI is bought as parallel jobs, and the free minutes need a linked Azure subscription. | From its public pages, GitLab includes the most CI minutes and team controls in its entry paid plan, at the highest listed price here for 10 developers. Full scanning sits in Ultimate, priced by sales. |

Review
Review from public pages
Written from Gitea Cloud's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 15, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read Gitea's pricing page (Cloud Managed and Self Managed views) and its price calculator, the Gitea Cloud product page, the cloud.gitea.com sign-in page, the compliance page, the Gitea Enterprise page and docs, and the Gitea docs on protected branches on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up for this review. Gitea Cloud is sold by instance size: the calculator offers 2, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 users, then Extra, Max and Ultra tiers, and the first admin account is not counted. Each size includes Git storage, object storage, CI/CD minutes (1,000 per user a month) and high-speed traffic; past the traffic quota, outgoing speed is limited rather than billed.
The list price is $19 per user a month, and the calculator applies a 50% discount to sizes up to 100 users, so a 10-user instance is $95 a month or $950 a year. The plan card ties the discount to non-profits and small companies, while cloud.gitea.com calls it recurring and says Extra, Max and Ultra get it too; the calculator shows no discount for those three.
The compliance page reports SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3 attestation for Gitea Cloud and Enterprise and lists ISO 27001 and HIPAA BAA support as roadmap items, while the pricing FAQ says Gitea can sign a BAA on a customized plan.
Strengths
- Single-tenant by design
Each customer gets a dedicated instance in an isolated environment, with its own domain and resources.
vs GitLab: GitLab offers single-tenant hosting through Dedicated, sold through a demo.
- EU region at the same price
The Frankfurt region keeps data in the European Union and costs the same as other regions.
vs GitHub: GitHub lists data residency on Enterprise, from $21 per user.
- Generous included CI minutes
The 10-user instance includes 10,000 CI minutes a month on managed runners that start on demand.
vs GitHub: GitHub Team includes 3,000 minutes and Azure DevOps 1,800.
- Familiar CI syntax
Gitea Actions uses workflow syntax compatible with GitHub Actions and can reuse existing actions.
- A self-managed path
The same Gitea runs on your own servers, free under the MIT license or as Enterprise at a listed $9.50 per user a month with a 1-year commitment.
Things to know
- No free plan for private work
Gitea Cloud has a 30-day trial; gitea.com is free but described as a place to host open source projects.
- SSO and audit logs not listed for Cloud
The pricing page lists SAML SSO and audit logs for self-managed Enterprise; the Cloud plan card does not mention them.
Workaround: Gitea Enterprise, self-managed, includes both.
- Pricing pages disagree on discounts
The plan card ties the 50% discount to non-profits and small companies, the calculator applies it to every size up to 100 users, and cloud.gitea.com says Extra, Max and Ultra get it while the calculator shows none.
- ISO 27001 and HIPAA on the roadmap
The compliance page lists ISO 27001 and HIPAA BAA support as roadmap items; the pricing FAQ says a BAA can be signed on a customized plan.
Pricing reality
Gitea Cloud is priced by instance size: $19 per user a month at list, 50% off in the calculator for sizes up to 100 users, and two months free on yearly billing. The 2-user instance is $19 a month, 5 users $47.50, 10 users $95. Each size includes 1,000 CI minutes per user a month; extra minutes are not sold separately, so more minutes mean a larger instance. Object storage adds $10 per 100 GB.
For 10 developers and 3,000 minutes, the 10-user instance billed yearly is $2,280 − $380 − $950 = $950 a year, or $79.17 a month by our arithmetic ($95 billed monthly), with 10,000 minutes included.
Exit path
The product page says repositories import easily from other Git services and that you can switch to a self-hosted plan. Gitea is open source under the MIT license, so the same software runs on your own servers.
Compared with
- Pick Gitea Cloud when
- You want a dedicated instance in an EU region without an Enterprise plan, and 10,000 CI minutes for a team of 10.
- Pick GitHub when
- Price per developer matters most ($40 for our team), or you want a free plan and an audit log on every organization plan.
- Pick Gitea Cloud when
- You want single-tenant hosting in a chosen region at a listed price.
- Pick GitLab when
- You need SAML SSO and audit events on the entry paid plan, or a free plan for up to five users.
Choose it if
- You want your own single-tenant Git host without running it.
- Your code must stay in an EU region.
- Your team already writes GitHub Actions workflows.
Look elsewhere if
- You need SAML SSO or an audit log on a hosted plan.
- You want a free plan for private repositories.
- Your security review requires ISO 27001 today.
Bottom line
From its public pages, Gitea Cloud offers a dedicated instance in your chosen region with generous CI minutes, at $79.17 a month for 10 developers. It scores lower on this rubric because the hosted plan lists no SSO or audit log, has no free plan and its pricing pages disagree on discounts.
