A free, open, non-exclusive program that pays one flat 35% share on video from standard plans, credit packs and on-demand, and publishes the dollar earnings per download.
Sell footage on Adobe Stock and inside Adobe’s own apps for one flat 35% share, with the dollar earnings per download published up front.
Adobe Stock Contributor is free to join with an Adobe ID and non-exclusive, so the same clips can be sold elsewhere, and you keep ownership. Approved clips are offered on Adobe Stock and, per the help center, to customers in Creative Cloud, Adobe Express and other Adobe products, plus API partners. Every video license from a standard plan, credit pack or on-demand pays 35% of the net price, based on US prices, and the royalties page lists what that means in dollars for each buyer plan: from $2.80 on a large annual subscription to $56.00 to $70.00 for a 4K clip from a credit pack or on-demand.

Review
Review from public pages
Written from Adobe Stock Contributor's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 15, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read Adobe Stock's contributor home page, the royalties page, the Adobe Stock Contributor Agreement (effective June 18, 2024) and about 40 help center articles on royalty rates, payments and tax, sign-up, moderation, video submission, CSV metadata, generative AI, the Firefly FAQ, the Free Collection and Missions on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up, upload or log in for this review. Help articles were read live with standard browser headers. The buyer plans page redirected us to a Korean page, so the buyer price used here (Unlimited, $129.99 a month, including HD and 4K video) comes from the Internet Archive copy of the US plans page (Jul 29, 2026).
The core earnings rules are clear. Video from standard plans, credit packs and on-demand pays one flat 35% of the net price per license, based on US prices, and the royalties page turns that into dollar figures per download for each buyer plan. Payouts are requested from the Insights page once the balance reaches $25, from 45 days after the first sale, through PayPal, Payoneer (outside the US only) or Skrill. The agreement lets you remove any single clip at any time, and the Firefly FAQ says that Adobe Stock video is used to train Firefly, with no opt-out. The video guide lists high-demand themes. The help pages describe Insights as earnings and downloads over a selected period; no per-clip earnings report is described.
A few points need a question. The agreement points to a Pricing and Payment Details page that now redirects to a page covering only the Free Collection and Supplemental Work; the rates sit on a separate page that says it is part of the agreement. The overview mentions base rates rising with lifetime earnings, while the rate page lists one 35% video rate. Flat rates for custom plans and how video downloads from the Unlimited buyer plan are paid are not published, and the agreement gives no notice period for rate changes (Adobe's General Terms promise notice of important changes, with no period).
Strengths
One flat 35% video share from the first sale
Every video license pays 35% of the net price, based on US prices, whether the buyer used a subscription, a credit pack or on-demand. There are no levels to climb and nothing resets on January 1.
vs Pond5: Shutterstock starts video at 15% for the first 10 licenses of the year; Pond5 pays 30% and iStock 20% for non-exclusive video.
Dollar earnings per download are published
The royalties page lists video earnings per download for each buyer plan, from $2.80 on a 750-credit annual subscription to $56.00 to $70.00 for 4K from a credit pack or on-demand.
vs Pond5: Shutterstock and Pond5 publish a percentage, not dollar figures per download; Storyblocks says it cannot state earnings per download.
Labelled AI-generated video is accepted
Generative AI videos are accepted when labelled "Created using generative AI tools", within rules on prompts (no artist names, real people or third-party IP) and similar iterations.
vs Pond5: Shutterstock, Pond5, iStock and Storyblocks do not accept AI-generated video.
Payouts when you choose, from $25
Nothing is paid out until you request it, so the balance stays in your account until you choose. You can request a payout each time it reaches $25, through PayPal, Payoneer or Skrill, and a rejected payout goes back to your balance.
Compared: iStock’s payout minimum is $100.
Remove a single clip at any time
The agreement lets you remove any Work at any time, and My Portfolio has a Delete file action. Only removals above 100 items or 10% of your work, whichever is greater, in 90 days need 90 days’ notice.
Compared: iStock removes accepted clips only for a valid legal reason or when you end the video part of the agreement; Storyblocks asks for 30 days’ notice.
Things to know
Clips train Firefly, with no opt-out
The Firefly FAQ says Adobe Stock video is used to train Firefly models and "We currently do not offer an opt-out option for Adobe Stock content." The yearly Firefly Contributor bonus is paid at Adobe’s discretion, and future bonuses are not promised.
Workaround: The bonus has been paid for four years, most recently on Sep 17, 2026, and the FAQ states the period and licenses it was based on.
Rates can change with no notice period
The agreement says Adobe may modify the Pricing and Payment Details, that you "should look at the Pricing and Payment Details regularly", and that continuing to upload or keeping Works online means you accept the new terms.
Workaround: The Royalty rates page shows a "Last updated" date (Jul 13, 2026 when we read it), so a periodic check shows any change.
Adobe sets video prices, and no video minimum is stated
All videos go to the standard collection, with no Premium tiers. Minimum royalties apply only to photos, vectors and illustrations on large subscriptions ($0.33 to $0.38 on the rate help page, $0.33 to $0.40 on the royalties page); the lowest video figure is $2.80, from a 750-credit annual plan.
Workaround: The rate card lists earnings per download for each buyer plan, so the range is known before you upload.
Some earnings rules are not published
Flat rates for custom and non-standard plans are not given, the contributor pages do not say how video downloads from the Unlimited buyer plan are paid, and the overview mentions base rates rising with lifetime earnings while the rate page lists one 35% video rate.
Workaround: Ask Contributor Relations in writing; the Adobe Express FAQ says Express royalties are labelled "Custom" in the dashboard, so they can be told apart from standard sales.
Pricing reality
Joining and uploading are free (the help center lists "no upfront costs or subscription fees"), and no Adobe payout fee is stated. Each video license from a standard plan, credit pack or on-demand pays 35% of the net price, based on the US price and including discounts, and the royalties page turns that into dollars per download: $2.80 to $8.40 from subscriptions (the lowest on a 750-credit annual plan), $22.40 to $28.00 for HD and $56.00 to $70.00 for 4K from credit packs or on-demand. The 4K figures equal a US price of $160 to $200 per clip (computed). The archived US plans page also lists an Unlimited plan at $129.99 a month that includes HD and 4K video; how those downloads are paid is not stated. Provider fees are not stated on Adobe’s pages, and without a valid tax form Adobe withholds up to 30% (24% backup withholding for US persons).
Exit path
Delete single clips from My Portfolio at any time; removing more than 100 items or 10% of your work (whichever is greater) in 90 days needs 90 days’ written notice. Ending the agreement takes 90 days’ email notice; removed clips leave affiliate sites within 60 days (reasonable efforts), licenses sold stay valid and later license fees are paid. Free Collection work stays for its term, and Missions (Supplemental) work cannot be withdrawn unless technically or legally required.
You want open sign-up, a $25 payout minimum, CSV metadata upload and the option to delete single clips.
Pick iStock Contributor when
You want 30 days’ email notice of rate changes and an exclusive track that pays 25% to 45% on istock.com.
Choose it if
You want one published video share, 35%, from your first license.
You sell 4K clips and want the dollar earnings per download on record before uploading.
You make AI-generated video and are willing to label it.
You want to keep selling the same clips on other sites.
Look elsewhere if
You do not want your clips used to train generative AI without an opt-out.
You want to set your own clip prices or earn more through an exclusive program.
You are in the US and want Payoneer, which Adobe offers only outside the United States.
Bottom line
From its public pages, Adobe Stock Contributor pays a flat 35% on video from standard plans, credit packs and on-demand, and publishes the dollar figures per download. Clips also train Firefly with no opt-out, payouts are on request, and rates can change with no notice period.
