Review
Review from public pages
Written from Zoho Books's public pages (pricing, security or privacy, and docs) as read on Oct 16, 2026. We did not sign up, and no hands-on run is published yet.
What the public pages show
We read Zoho Books' US pricing page with its add-ons and FAQ, the full pricing comparison page, the Zoho Payments and Zoho Payroll US pricing pages, Zoho's compliance and security pages and the Zoho Books API documentation on Oct 16, 2026; we did not sign up, start the trial or call the API for this review.
The comparison page is detailed and settles most questions. One line matters for small teams: "Bills are supported only in the Professional, Premium, Elite, and Ultimate plans." Standard has 3 users and bank feeds but records expenses only, so a business that enters vendor bills starts on Professional. The FAQ lists yearly limits per plan: 1,000 invoices on Free, 5,000 on Standard, 10,000 invoices and 10,000 bills and expenses combined on Professional.
One point needs a question to Zoho: the pricing page lists API access among the features Standard adds, while the comparison gives the Free plan 1,000 API requests a day. The Free plan is available while yearly revenue stays under $50K.

Things to know
Bills start on Professional
Standard ($20) has 3 users and bank feeds but no bills, so paying suppliers through accounts payable starts at $50 a month.
Free plan limits
Free is for businesses under $50K yearly revenue, with 1 user plus 1 accountant, no bank feeds and no bills.
Budgets and locations on Premium

Pricing reality
Zoho Books bills per organization in tiers, with extra users at $3 a month ($2.50 billed yearly). For our scenario, 3 users with invoices, bills and bank feeds, Standard has no bills, so the cheapest fit is Professional at $50 a month at list price (computed), or $40 a month billed yearly; it includes 5 users. Premium ($70) adds budgets and locations. On top: Zoho Payments at 2.9% + 30¢ for cards and 0.8% capped at $5 for ACH, the BillPay add-on at $69 a month ($59 yearly) for 100 ACH vendor payments, document autoscans from $10 a month, and Zoho Payroll from $39 a month plus $6 per employee.
Exit path
Reports export to CSV, XLS, XLSX or PDF: up to 20,000 records at once in spreadsheet formats (5,000 in PDF) and 100,000 per asynchronous export (1,000,000 on Elite and Ultimate). A documented API is available on every plan within daily request limits. The FAQ says there is no contract and you can cancel at any time.
