Audited enterprise identity — SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001 and six hosting regions — with a free plan of 25,000 users and one enterprise connection.
Auth0 covers what enterprise and regulated customers ask an identity vendor for: annual SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001/27017/27018 audits, a choice of six regions for where user data lives, and a HIPAA BAA, private deployment and a 99.99% SLA on Enterprise. Small apps can start on a free plan that already includes passkeys, brute-force protection and one enterprise connection.
Audited every yearThe docs describe annual SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001/27017/27018 audits by an independent auditor, with the reports in the Support Center’s Compliance section, and CSA STAR certification.Evidence: Data privacy and compliance docs (2026-10-15)

Best for
Teams selling to enterprises or regulated industries that need audited compliance, a choice of data region and room to grow into private deployment.
Good to know
Paid plans are priced by user count: B2C Essentials is $700/mo at 10,000 users, and SSO on paid plans needs a B2B plan.

Bottom line
From its public pages, Auth0 is the most complete compliance and data-region package of the three, with a generous free plan. Its paid plans cost more per user than the others, so price the B2C or B2B plan at your user count first.
From its public pages, Supabase Auth is the least expensive per user of the three and the only one with a BAA on a self-serve plan. It fits best when the rest of your app runs on Supabase.
From its public pages, Firebase Authentication is the least expensive route here to SAML SSO and a self-serve BAA, inside the Firebase platform. Check US-only processing and the protections it does not list.
From its public pages, Clerk offers the largest free allowance here and clear prices from the first user to SSO. Check US-only hosting and the plan that unlocks the SOC 2 report against your customers’ requirements.

What the public pages show
We read Auth0's pricing page and its compliance and tenant documentation on Oct 15, 2026; we did not sign up for this review. The pricing page asks two questions before it shows a price: B2C or B2B, and how many monthly active users. Prices then follow the user count, from $35 a month for 500 users on B2C Essentials to $2,100 at 30,000; beyond the steps shown, the page says to get in touch.
The free plan is broad: up to 25,000 users, passkeys, brute-force protection, one enterprise connection plus self-service SSO and SCIM, with no card needed to sign up (a card is verified only for a custom domain). Paid B2C plans drop enterprise connections; the footnote says to move to a B2B plan to keep them.
The compliance docs are specific: an annual SOC 2 Type 2 audit across all five Trust Services Criteria, annual ISO 27001/27017/27018 audits, CSA STAR, PCI-compliant deployment options and a BAA on request. The pricing page places the BAA with an Enterprise subscription.
Strengths
The broadest compliance list here
SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001/27017/27018, CSA STAR and PCI-compliant deployment models are all described in the docs.
vs Clerk: Clerk holds SOC 2 Type 2 but not ISO 27001; Supabase holds SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001.
Six hosting regions
Tenants can be created in Australia, Canada, Europe, Japan, the UK or the US, which sets where data is hosted.
vs Clerk: Clerk hosts data in the US only.
Enterprise connection on the free plan
Free includes 1 enterprise connection, self-service SSO and SCIM for up to 25,000 users.
vs Clerk: Clerk and Supabase start SSO on their $25 Pro plans.
Passkeys and brute-force protection on every plan
Both are listed as included from Free upwards.
Things to know
Price rises with users
B2C Essentials is $700/mo at 10,000 users and Professional $1,600; B2B Essentials is $2,100 at 10,000.
SSO on paid plans means a B2B plan
Paid B2C plans do not include enterprise connections; B2B Essentials includes 3 and more start at $100/mo each.
Some protections are higher-tier
Breached password detection starts on Professional; bot detection is an Enterprise add-on.
Self-serve prices stop at 30,000 users
Above the last step of the price selector the page says to get in touch.
Workaround: The FAQ says paid plans can be sized up to 100,000 users or more; sizes past the selector go through sales.
Pricing reality
Auth0 prices by monthly active users in steps from 500 to 30,000, separately for B2C and B2B. B2C Essentials runs from $35 (500) to $700 (10,000) and $2,100 (30,000); B2C Professional from $240 to $1,600 at 10,000. B2B Essentials runs from $150 to $2,100 at 10,000, and B2B Professional from $800 to $2,400 at 10,000. The free plan covers up to 25,000 users.
Add-ons sit on top: enterprise SSO connections beyond those included start at $100 a month each, Enterprise MFA on B2B Essentials starts at $100 a month (SMS charged separately), and M2M tokens start at $28 a month. Bot detection, the HIPAA BAA and private deployment are Enterprise options.
Exit path
The pricing FAQ says users can be exported with the User Import/Export extension in the dashboard, and that the Management API exposes all account data for export in any format.
You want a dedicated identity platform with six regions, CSA STAR and PCI options, and enterprise features such as private deployment.
Pick Supabase Auth when
You want 100,000 users on a $25 plan, SSO priced per user, and a HIPAA BAA on a self-serve plan.
Choose it if
Your customers ask for ISO 27001 or SOC 2 Type 2 from your identity vendor.
User data must be hosted in the EU, UK, Canada, Australia or Japan.
You need one enterprise connection while staying on a free plan.
You expect to need a HIPAA BAA, private deployment or a 99.99% SLA later.
Look elsewhere if
You expect tens of thousands of users on a small budget.
You want several SSO connections without a B2B plan.
Bottom line
From its public pages, Auth0 is the most complete compliance and data-region package of the three, with a generous free plan. Its paid plans cost more per user than the others, so price the B2C or B2B plan at your user count first.

Read from the vendor's public pages on Oct 15, 2026. No hands-on run is published yet. How we check
We have not published a sign-up run for Auth0 yet. The access facts above were read from its sign-up and pricing pages on Oct 15, 2026.
We read the pricing, security and docs pages of three authentication services on the same day and scored them on the same six indicators. What each one sells, what 10,000 users and five SSO connections cost, and who should pick which.
